In a car accident early Sunday morning, 6 people were injured on I-5, reports the Seattle Times
At approximately 2:40 a.m., the chain-reaction accident occurred when a Ford Explorer carrying 2 people attempted to merge while on I-5 to avoid a lane closure. They crashed into a Freightliner truck, which then crashed into a Lexus RX300 that was carrying 3 people.
As a result of the crash, the two right lanes of northbound Interstate 5 near the West Seattle Bridge interchange were closed, as were the northbound on-ramps from South Spokane Street and South Columbian Way. The accident wasn't cleared until approximately 7:00 a.m.
All 6 people involved were taken to Harborview Medical Center
. Their conditions are unknown.
