Slick roads, inclement weather, and young drivers were probably responsible for a serious Washington car accident involving two Yelm High School teens on Tuesday morning.The Washington State Patrol reported that 16-year-old Skye Calhoun and her passenger, 16-year-old Alexandria Bachmeier, were driving northbound on Morris Road in Yelm when the rain-slicked roads caused the young driver to lose control of her vehicle and cross into the opposite lane. The girls hit a pickup truck head on.
Both were airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, with Calhoun in critical condition and Bachmeier in serious condition. Both suffered head injuries, chest injuries, and leg injuries in the head-on crash.
The Washington State Patrol said that the rainy morning, in addition to the recent dry spell, made the roads especially dangerous on Tuesday morning. Although the crash is still under investigation, police also believe Calhoun was driving too fast for the road conditions.

Yelm High School students in critical condition after crash|Pierce County Accident Attorney
Tacoma News Tribune reported that two 16-year-old Yelm girls were airlifted to Harborview Medical Center with critical injuries on September 29th, 2009. According to Washington State Patrol the teenager was driving 1985 Oldsmobile northbound on Morris Road just south of 110th Avenue in Yelm in Thurston County when she crossed the center line and hit a 2003 GMC box type truck head-on.The Associated Press identified the two teenagers as Skye Calhoun, the driver and Alexandria Bachmeier, the passenger. The driver of the GMC, 43-year-old Matthew L. Benson of McKenna, wasn't injured.

Three Brothers Killed in Yakima Jeep Accident On US 12
The Seattle Times reported that A Sunday, August 3 Washtington State car accident near Rimrock Lake on U.S. Highway 12 left three brothers dead. The crash, which took place in Naches, Washington, on Sunday afternoon, took place when a Jeep Wrangler carrying six people turned into an oncoming Ford Explorer towing a boat.Washington State Patrol reports that the 21-year-old driver, Roman Abundiz, along with two of his brothers, 15-year-old Raul and 11-year-old Fernando, died in the Naches car accident. The other Jeep occupants, including 43-tear-old Rosa P. Abundiz, 22-year-old Yesenia Verduzco Sanchez and 21-year-old and Rogelio Benavidez Ramirez, were rushed by emergency workers to Yakima Regional Medical and Cardiac Center.
The Ford Explorer was also carrying six passengers, all hailing from Kennewick, Washington. Four of the Ford's occupants were also injured in the Naches intersection accident. The driver of the Ford, 32-year-old Daniel Leach, was among the injured.
