Tacoma car accident near Spanaway at SR-512 and Pacific Avenue | Tacoma car accident attorney

On December 22, 2008, Richard L. Clevenstine from Tacoma was driving his van when he was allegedly rear-ended by a red truck which fled the scene.  He called 911 and continued to chase after the truck exiting off eastbound SR 512 onto southbound SR 7 (Pacific Avenue).  Both vehicles ran through a red light, however, Clevenstine T-boned a 1987 Oldsmobile Cutlass on the passenger side with the front of his van and then hit a 1996 Ford R10 pickup which was traveling northbound on Pacific Avenue.

The driver of the Oldsmobile, 18 year old Aaron W. Swan of Spanaway and his passenger, 18 year old Kristine M. Turner of Puyallup, were injured and transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup.  Clevenstine’s passengers, 30 year old Jason Clevenstine and 23 year old Jared M. Clevenstine were also transported to Good Samaritan Hospital.  The driver of the Ford R10, 21 year old James L. Epps, was reportedly uninjured in the collision.

Pickup truck collision with Stryker in Spanaway | Tacoma truck accident attorney

On April 7, 2009, a 55-year-old pickup truck driver, Gregory Wood from Roy, Washington, was killed in a collision with a Stryker vehicle from Fort Lewis on SR-507 near Spanaway.

According to Washington State Patrol, two Fort Lewis-based Strykers were stopped at an intersection. The first turned left onto the highway, and as the second was entering the roadway, it collided into the side of a Wood's Ford F-150.

It appears that the Stryker vehicle failed to yield the right of way to the pickup truck and may also have been inattentive causing the fatal crash.

The Andrew Kim Law Firm represents people seriously injured or killed by negligent drivers of cars, trucks or as in this case military vehicles.  When dealing with an injury or wrongful death claim against a governmental entity such as the U.S. military, certain procedures must strictly be followed and different statutes (Federal Tort Claims Act) apply.  Call an experienced Tacoma personal injury attorney at 1-800-636-3676 for a free consultation now.
