Accident in Lakewood Kills Driver | Lakewood Wrongful Death Lawyer

The News Tribune reported today that an accident in Lakewood killed one and seriously injured two on Monday.

At approximately 3:15 a.m., a commercial truck smashed into the back of a minivan who reportedly was slowing to change lanes just north of SR 512 on northbound Interstate 5.  The 24 year old driver of the truck told troopers that he did not have time to stop and avoid the minivan.

The rear of the minivan was so severely crushed in that West Pierce Fire & Rescue took 15 minutes to get the occupants out of the van.

The rear passenger in the minivan, Shenekwa E. Asberry, a 24 year old woman from Lacey was killed.  The driver, 28, and front seat passenger, 26, were rushed to local St. Joseph Medical Center with serious injuries.  The driver of the truck was also transported to St. Joseph Medical Center with complaints of neck pain.
