A 39-year-old Seattle cyclist was killed in a collision with a van on February 4, 2009 in Ballard on 24th Avenue NW near the intersection of NW 65th Street.  The bicyclist was riding downhill south on 24th Avenue NW when he entered the two-way left turn lane, attempting to pass a van on the left.

The van moved into the left turn lane and the bicycle and rider went underneath the van.  Medics performed CPR at the scene on the cyclist who suffered life-threatening injuries.  He was taken to Harborview Medical Center where he later died.  The bicyclist was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.  The case is still under investigation.

If you were injured in a bicycle accident and are not sure whether you should speak with the insurance company, call the Andrew Kim Law Firm first at (425) 289-1990 in Bellevue or (253) 682-2000 or 1-800-636-3676 in Washington for a free consultation before it's too late.  Giving too much information or the wrong information to the insurance company can damage your case.
