Cyclist killed in crash with van in Ballard | Seattle bicycle crash attorney

A 39-year-old Seattle cyclist was killed in a collision with a van on February 4, 2009 in Ballard on 24th Avenue NW near the intersection of NW 65th Street.  The bicyclist was riding downhill south on 24th Avenue NW when he entered the two-way left turn lane, attempting to pass a van on the left.

The van moved into the left turn lane and the bicycle and rider went underneath the van.  Medics performed CPR at the scene on the cyclist who suffered life-threatening injuries.  He was taken to Harborview Medical Center where he later died.  The bicyclist was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.  The case is still under investigation.
