
On the evening of December 20, 2008, thirty eight passengers were hospitalized at several different hospitals in Denver, Colorado after their airplane on Continental Airlines flight 1404 crashed during takeoff and caught fire on the entire right side of the plane. The cause of the crash is unknown and is still being investigated by the National Transportation Safety Board.
The plane landed in a ravine between two runways on the west side of the airfield at Denver International Airport. The Boeing 737 was departing from Denver and heading to Houston and it was carrying 107 passengers and five crew members who all managed to escape from the emergency chutes.
