Driver pleads not guilty in Lake City Way fatal rear-end car crash | Seattle car accident attorney

21-year-old Jabari James pleaded not guilty to vehicular homicide charges from a January 3, 2009 Seattle car accident on Lake City Way NE in Seattle, Washington.  According to investigation reports, he was driving at a very high rate of speed and driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol when he crashed into the back of a Subaru Impreza that was stopped at a red light at the intersection of NE 95th Street and Lake City Way NE.

James' blood alcohol content (BAC) was reportedly 0.23 which is almost three times the legal limit of .08 in Washington.

A passenger in the back seat of the Subaru, William Somtoa, 19, died the day after the collision from a brain injury.  The driver of the Subaru, Chase Evans, 19, suffered a concussion and a second passenger, Carmrodeen Kahn, 21, suffered minor injuries.  A passenger in James' car, Daniel Thomas, 20, also suffered a concussion.
