Marcelino Rosales-Avendano was charged with vehicular homicide after he was going 100 mph on Interstate 5 and crashed his car and killed his passenger.  He was driving southbound on I-5 near Highway 18 in Federal Way, Washington when the car fishtailed and spun before sliding off the highway.

The driver, Rosales-Avendano was ejected, and a 26-year-old Auburn woman, Nora Jerry, was thrown into the back seat and died of head injuries.  Neither were wearing a seat belt.  Alcohol was involved with Rosales-Avendano's blood-alcohol level measured at 0.10.

The this tragic accident was could have been lessened if the driver and passenger had worn their seat belts.  It is fortunate that no other vehicles were involved in the crash.
