Eight-Year-Old Dies In Fall Accident In Washington’s San Juan Islands

An eight-year-old girl died while on vacation with her family in the San Juan Islands last week, according to local reports.

The family was staying in a cabin off of the coast of Washington when the girl, Ella Taylor Bisbee, fell from a loft and struck her head on the building’s hard wood floor. She suffered a traumatic brain injury and internal bleeding. She was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle and directly went into emergency brain surgery. However, she died of her fall accident injuries on Friday morning. Her parents expressed gratitude for the medical team and emergency rescue workers who struggled to save their daughter’s life in the hours after the fall accident took place.

She is survived by her parents and her three-year-old sister, Catherine. Ella had just finished second grade.
