Elderly Renton Woman Killed On Benton Highway In Two-Car Crash
A 97-year-old woman from Renton, Washington, was killed in a two-vehicle car accident on Benton Highway at 11 am on Thursday. The Washington State Patrol reported that the elderly woman, Marguerite Carruthers was in the passenger seat of a sedan driven by an 82-year-old woman also of Renton. The two women were involved in a collision when they struck a car traveling northbound and turning left in front of them.Carruthers was rushed by emergency rescuers to Harborview Medical Center, where she died from her car accident injuries in the hours after the crash. The accident took place near the intersection of Benton Highway and Southeast 200th St. The woman driving the other vehicle, a 59-year-old Kent, Washington, resident was injured in the car crash but treated and released form the hospital with non-life-threatening medical issues.
The Washington State Patrol is investigating the cause of the accident to determine who was at fault for the fatal WA crash.
