Five-Year-Old Yakima Boy Dies In Rollover Accident

A young boy was killed in a one-vehicle rollover accident outside of Toppenish, Washington last week. Washington State Patrol said that 5-year-old Daniel R. Ezekiel died at a Seattle hospital after suffering fatal injuries in a late-night car accident.

According to the Yakima Herald-Republic, the Washington car accident took place just after three in the morning on Yost Road south of Toppenish. The driver of the car and the apparent mother of the boy, Chantel Peters, made a hard maneuver with the car causing it to flip. The boy was thrown from the vehicle while Peters suffered minor injuries. The boy was rushed to Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital and then transferred later in the day.

Police say that the driver of the car was under the influence drugs or alcohol at the time of the car crash and that vehicular homicide charges could follow.
