Kent Toddler & Aunt Struck By Cars After Child Steps Into Traffic

A two-year-old child was struck and killed by a car after he wandered into traffic near his home in Kent, Washington. Even more tragically, his aunt was critically injured when she was struck by a different car while trying to save the boy.

The accident took place on Saturday evening on 108th Avenue Southeast when an unidentified child slipped out of the back door of the family household and wandered into the street in front of the house. At the same time that the toddler was entering the street, his aunt drove by and saw the child in danger. In a terrible turn of events, the child and the aunt were hit by separate oncoming cars at the same time.

Both the little girl and her aunt were rushed by EMS to Harborview Medical Center, where the child was pronounced dead and the aunt was listed in critical condition with multiple car accident injuries.
