King 5 News
reports that as of 10:00 a.m. this morning, 3 westbound lanes of Interstate 90 in Bellevue were blocked and a 6 mile backup clogged the road between 148th Avenue SE and I-405 due to a collision involving at least 13 cars, a semi-truck and a logging truck.
According to the Washington State Department of Transportation
, the chain reaction began at approximately 7:45 a.m. this morning when the semi-truck was unable to stop in time for traffic congestion. The logging truck fishtailed to avoid crashing into the semi-truck, causing the continued pile-up.
At least seven people have been taken to the hospital, including one in critical condition.
