A one-car accident that involved a car fire left one person dead and another with serious injuries. The Auburn, Washington car crash also closed the road for several hours and left thousands in the city without electricity.

A one-car accident in Southeast Auburn left one person dead and one person seriously injured on Wednesday night. According to NWCN.com out of Washington State, the car accident took place at around one in the morning, when the car left the roadway and slammed into a telephone pole.

The car burst into flames upon impact. While the male driver of the car was pulled to safety by a Good Samaritan that heard the crash, the female passenger of the car was killed when the car was quickly engulfed in flames. The driver of the vehicle was rushed to Harboview Medical Center in Seattle where he is recovering from the crash.

The single-car crash is under investigation by Washington Police. There is no current information on whether drugs, alcohol or speeding were a factor in the accident.

Over 7,000 Auburn residents in the southeast section of the city lost power because of the car accident. The street where the accident occurred was also closed for several hours.
