Poulsbo teen bicyclist struck by truck
POULSBO, WashingtonA 14-year-old girl was seriously injured and airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle after she was struck by a pickup truck while riding her bicycle on November 10, 2008. She was riding along Clear Creek Road just outside of Poulsbo, Washington when she apparently made a sudden turn across the street to head onto Lakeness Road.
The driver of a Dodge Ram truck was unable to swerve in time and struck the girl with his right front fender according to the Kitsap County Sheriff's Department. Unfortunately the girl was not wearing a safety helmet which could have reduced the severity of her injuries.
