King 5 News reported in this article that voters in Pierce County will see a sales tax measure on their ballot this coming November.

Due to the recent recession, Pierce Transit cut or saved nearly $111 million by drastically cutting their bus services by about half and reducing their work force by 19%.  To prevent further cuts and hopefully to restore some of their essential services, primarily for those who rely on public transit, like seniors and the disabled, the Pierce Transit Board of Commissioners passed a resolution calling for a sales tax increase vote.

The sales tax would increase by 0.3%, or an extra $0.03 per $10.00.
