In the early morning of Saturday, January 3, 2009, a BMW crashed into the rear-end of a Subaru stopped at a stop light in the southbound lane of Lake City Way NE at the intersection of NE 95th Street in Seattle.  The driver of the BMW was traveling at a high rate of speed and was apparently under the influence of alcohol or drugs (DUI).

The driver was arrested for vehicular assault (RCW 46.61.522) which is a felony charge.  Two passengers in the Subaru and one passenger in the BMW suffered life-threatening injuries and were taken to a local hospital.  The drivers of both cars suffered minor injuries.
