Seattle Motorcycle Rider Dies After Losing Control Of Harley
A Seattle motorcycle rider was killed on Highway 101 after he lost control of his bicycle on Wednesday, October 7, 2009. State Police say that 55-year-old Alan Gelvin of Washington was negotiating a curve when he lost control of his bike and left his lane.At 3:20 pm, the bike slid into oncoming traffic on the two-lane highway and went under a pickup truck traveling in the opposite direction. Gelvin, who was riding a 2007 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, died of his motorcycle accident injuries. He was wearing a motorcycle helmet at the time of the accident.
The two people riding in the pickup truck, a couple in their early 60s, suffered only minor injuries in the fatal motorcycle accident.
A memorial was held for Gelvin a week later - he was a United States veteran and an avid Harley-Davidson rider.
