Semi-truck and motorcycle crash on I-82 | Washington motorcycle accident attorney

The driver a 2002 International semi-truck, Johnny Harris, was heading westbound on Interstate 82 near milepost 36 near Yakima, Washington when a tire came off its rim causing the truck to hit the guardrail then veer across the median and into one of the eastbound lanes.

There was no contact with any other vehicles, however, gravel was scattered onto the westbound lanes of I-82 which caused 27 year old motorcycle rider Daniel Reich, 27, of Granger to lose control of his 2007 Suzuki motorcycle and crash.  He was taken to Yakima Regional Medical and Cardiac Center for his injuries where he was treated and released.  Investigators blamed the crash on the defective tire.

The question in this case is whether the tire manufacturer was responsible for a defective tire or whether the trucking company was at fault for not properly maintaining the tire, or whether the semi-truck driver was an independent contractor or not which would make him responsible as well.
