Settlement Reached In Tacoma Monster Truck Child Death

After his six-year-old son was killed by a piece of flying metal at a Tacoma Dome truck show at the start of the year, Jessie Hizey has reached a private settlement with the company that put on the event, Feld Entertainment Inc. The specific terms of the monetary settlement were not released to the public.

Sebastian Hizey of Graham, Washington, suffered a fatal head injury when a piece of metal flew off of one of the large trucks and into the Tacoma Dome audience. An investigation revealed that the flying metal was the result of a problem with the truck's rear drive shaft.

Hizey's Tacoma child accident lawyer explained that the family would not be seeking monetary damages from the city of Tacoma, since they did not believe the city was at fault for the child's death. Field Entertained released a brief statement saying that the matter had been resolved in a confidential manner.
