A truck accident
that took place on Highway 730 near Wallula, Washington, this week highlights the dangers of falling rock zones and rocks in the roadway.
According to the Washington State Highway Patrol, a large rock fell into the highway lane on the night of Sunday, December 13th, causing two different tractor-trailer accidents. The first tractor-trailer accident
occurred when a truck driver was unable to avoid the large rock in the roadway and crashed into a guardrail on the shoulder. The second truck accident took place
when a big rig ran over a truck axle left in the road from the first truck accident.
The driver of the first truck was taken to the hospital with injuries, while the second trucker was uninjured.
Washington drivers are reminded to be wary of debris in the road, especially in falling rock and fallen rock zones.
