Shortly after 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening, a pedestrian attempting to cross a rail yard in Auburn was killed by a train, reported Komo News in this article.

A Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway spokesman says the pedestrian was killed by a northbound Amtrak train when the pedestrian allegedly climbed through an idle freight train and stepped in front of the oncoming train.  Following the accident, it was reported that investigators could not identify the victim's gender.
