Earlier this week, a settlement was announced regarding the wrongful death lawsuit resulting from a February 4, 2009 bicyclist/van accident, reports Komo News.

Just over a year ago, 39 year old Kevin Black of the Ballard neighborhood was riding his bicycle southbound on 24th Avenue NW, commuting to the University of Washington for his job as a research scientist. Owned by Ambient Control Company, a van made a u-turn into Black's path near NW 64th Street, causing Black to crash into the van. He was rolled over by the tires and killed.

In September 2009, a lawsuit was filed against the van's driver. The lawsuit settled 8 months later, awarding $1.5 million to Black's estate.
