5 year old got hit by car

My son (5) rode his bicycle and when I did not look for a second, he rode it out of the driveway and a car hit him. He got hurt (not that bad though) and needed to go to the hospital.
What are the legal consequences? Can the driver of the car (not injured) sue me for damages to his car? Do we have to pay all my son's medical bills plus the costs of the fire truck? Is my son/me at fault 100%? Am I now a negligent mom???

Andrew's answer:

A pedestrian or bicyclist should be covered under the driver's insurance policy for medical bills if they have personal injury protection (PIP) or medical payments (MP) coverage, so your son may covered regardless of fault.

Depending on the facts of the case, your son may even have a claim against the driver of the car that hit him if they weren't paying attention for eg.

Best to speak with a local personal injury attorney.
