Christmas trees are also a common cause of fires. Both artificial and natural trees have been reported as being the first thing to become ignited. During the years of 2003-2007, an average of 250 reported home structure fires resulted from Christmas trees.

Decorating-Related Falls
Between the years of 2000-2002, approximately 5,800 people were treated in the emergency room for fall-related injuries that occurred while decorating for the holidays. that's 2-3 every hour!
