I was in the waiting zone of intersection and waited for turning left.... Seattle Personal Injury Attorney answers questions posted by consumer

I was in the waiting zone of intersection and waited for turning left, the signal was already yellow at that time.

And there were about 3 cars passing through since the singal changed into yellow. The other car with which I had accident was about 150m to 200m when it was already yellow and before it 3 cars passed through with yellow signal. I didn't expect the other car would keep driving without the intent to stop at an even fast speed since there was no way she could finish passing through the intersection with yellow signal safely, so I started to turn. Her car rushed in and the collision happend. During the accident, the signal changed into red which means she could not pass through the intersection with yellow signal. The signal would change into red before she finishes passing if there was no accident. Therefore, can I sue her about running in a red light?

Seattle Personal Injury Attorney Answer:

Tough case to prove regarding who's at fault. The other driver and his insurance company will definitely say that you failed to yield the right of way and were at fault. Without independent witnesses, I don't think you'll prevail in a claim or lawsuit.
