Eatonville Accident Leaves Half a Dozen Injured and One Man Dead

A New Year’s Day crash in Eatonville, Washington, reportedly claimed the life of a 48-year-old Eatonville man and resulted in injuries to two adults and four children. The crash occurred on state Route 7 and 316th Street East around 10 a.m. on January 1, 2014.

According to reports about the accident, 48-year-old Glenn T. Fitting called his girlfriend approximately 10 minutes before the crash and reported that he was having chest pains. He was driving himself to the hospital when his pickup truck passed several cars and crossed the center line, where it collided head-on with another pickup truck.

A spokesperson for the state patrol has told the media that it appears that Mr. Fitting suffered a heart attack before crossing the center line. Mr. Fitting was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

Six people in the pickup truck that was hit were reportedly injured in this crash. They include:

  • Douglas Harris, age 37
  • Sara Harris, age 34
  • Nevea Fawcett, age 8
  • McKinzie Harris, age 7
  • Payton Maples, age 4
  • Wyatt Harris, age 3


McKinzie Harris was reported to be in critical condition following the crash. She was first taken to MultiCare Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital and then transferred to Seattle’s Harborview Medical Center.

Sara and Douglas Harris were reported to be in serious condition and Payton Maples and Wyatt Harris were reported to be in satisfactory condition following the accident. Nevea was treated and released.
