
The Seattle Police Department responded to a serious Washington State pedestrian accident on Aurora Avenue late Wednesday night.
According to KOMO News, emergency responders rushed to the intersection of Aurora Avenue and North 105th Street in North Seattle after a possibly intoxicated man struck a pedestrian with his car. The 22-year-old woman was crossing the street near the old Cyndy's House of Pancakes when she was struck by a sedan and flew into the driver's windshield, shattering it.
The injury victim was rushed to Harborview Medical Center by ambulance, where she is being treated for a traumatic brain injury as well as other medical conditions. Her identity has not yet been released.
The man driving the car was not injured in the pedestrian accident. While the man stopped after the collision, police observed that he was under the influence of drugs or alcohol and arrested him for DUI related charges.
The Seattle pedestrian accident took place at around 11:30 at night on Wednesday and closed Aurora Avenue for two hours while police cleared the scene and investigated the incident.
