A man who was seriously injured in a Washington State truck accident in December has filed a personal injury lawsuit against both the driver of the big rig and the big rig company.
According to local new sources, the 18-wheeler accident took place when 60-year-old Bill Geary was driving near his home next to an 18-wheeler. When the large truck tipped over while making a turn onto another street, his pickup truck was crushed with Geary still inside. He was trapped inside his car for over an hour, fearing for his life, struggling to breathe, and in extreme pain. When rescuers freed him from his mangled vehicle, he found that he had a broken neck, spinal injuries, and a crushed leg. While his health has improved, he will never be the same again, either physically or emotionally.
The driver of the truck was fined for careless driving but still works for the same trucking company.
Geary believes that the trucking company involved in the accident, Express Transport of Seattle, was responsible for his injuries – as well as his $250,000 in medical bill, extensive physical therapy, and pain and suffering. Specifically, according to the personal injury lawsuit, Geary is seeking $3 million damages.
